Welcome to the Ballyward Surgery website.

The surgery will be closed on Friday 12th July 2019.    Please ensure you order your repeat prescriptions in good time allowing at least 48hours before collection.

Reminder - we have online ordering for your repeat medicines which is our preferred way for you to order - please ask at reception for your first time unique log in so you can bypass the phone system.

When the Surgery is closed, please contact the GP Out of hours for the Southern Trust area which is 028 3839 9201. For our patients living in the South Eastern Trust Area your number is 028 9260 2204.

Reminder to all patients: Please allow 48hrs (that's two full working days ) for repeat prescriptions to be issued.

Ballyward Surgery has a part time pharmacist, Bronagh Fitzpatrick.  Bronagh is able to assist with INR clinics, cholesterol reviews and Medication reviews where applicable.

Community Midwives

Mrs Christine Minish


Our Midwife Christine sees pregnant women from 16wks of pregnancy every Friday.

She is able to carry out antenatal care and will be able to supply you with MAT B1 forms as appropriate.

Please note: Initial booking appointments still need to be made with one of our GPs

Health Visitors


The health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Aine and Lisa, our Public Health Nurse, run a baby clinic on the 1st and 3rd Monday afternoons each month.

Ms Louise Ireland

We are fortunate to have the use of counselling services at present in the surgery. If you think you might benefit from counselling sessions, ask the doctor about this service. Our counselling sessions are on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
